Our Location

Gonzales is one of the earliest Anglo-American settlements in Texas, and the first west of the Colorado River. It was established by Empresario Green DeWitt as the capital of his colony in August 1825.

Gonzales is best known as the site of the first skirmish of the Texas Revolution. On October 2, 1835, the Texans that lived here fashioned the first Come and Take It Flag, and successfully resisted Mexican soldiers who had been sent to retrieve the small cannon they used for protection.

Nowadays, Gonzales is a thriving community full of fun, family friendly things to do and places to enjoy!
